Mammal Tracks and Signs

Signs of red squirrel presence

Our two Tracks and Signs courses provide excellent opportunities to learn, or further develop, skills to confidently identify mammal activity in the field. The highly-experienced trainers will cover a range of topics over the two days, including; prints, track patterns, feeding signs, and identifying species from scats.

The residential course at FSC Preston Montford will have a mix of classroom sessions and opportunities to observe tracks and signs within the grounds of the centre. Food and accommodation are included in the course price. The non-residential course at the Woodcraft School in West Sussex offers a mainly field-based two day course, with lots of discussion and an opportunity to explore the South Downs National Park looking for mammal tracks and signs.
