The Mammal Society 63rd Spring Conference & AGM
Friday March 31st, 2017 6.00pm – Sunday April 2nd 2017 16:30pm Robinson College, University of Cambridge
The Mammal Society Spring conference brings together academics, practitioners and volunteers to share the latest information on mammal conservation. As well as lectures and talks, there will also be interactive (CPD-accredited) workshops.
This year we are delighted to welcome Simon King, Wildlife Film-maker and TV presenter, to open the conference. Simon will be delivering the Cranbrook Lecture on Friday evening – an event that is free to attend. He will also be presenting the prizes for our 2017 Mammal Photographer of the Year amateur wild mammal photography competition.
Saturday morning’s plenary lecture will be given by Professor Bill Sutherland of Cambridge University, who is renowned for his work on environmental change. A champion of evidence-based conservation, Bill founded the free online journal Conservation Evidence. His team works at the interface of academia, policy and practice, promoting the use of the best scientific data to underpin management decisions.
The Annual General Meeting of The Mammal Society will also be held during the conference and all members are warmly invited to attend.
Winning entries from our annual Mammal Photographer of the Year photographic competition will be on display and the prize-giving will take place on the Friday evening, immediately before the Cranbrook Lecture. This event is free to attend, however there will be limited seating so places are first come first served.
An abstracts booklet for all talks is now available to download and print below for interested parties. Please note that these will not be provided at the conference in the interests of saving paper.
